Education concept
Our grammar school is inspired by the Scandinavian approach to education. We build on three main pillars, which are reflected in all our methods. See how we fulfill these values in the everyday life of the school.
English Language
CLIL
We utilize the CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning) method – English is therefore not confined only to separate language classes. We purposefully integrate it into other subjects – from social sciences to natural sciences and technical subjects. Students thus regularly work with English materials and communicate in a foreign language even in classes that are not primarily language-oriented.
International Exams
At the same time, we prepare students for international exams, which we recognize for the graduation exam (maturita) and as a completed subject at universities.
Preparation for university
Formative Assessment
We work with formative assessment, which provides students with continuous, clear feedback and guides them through the process of taking ownership of their own learning. This approach develops their ability to understand their own progress, supports motivation, independence, and a deeper understanding of the subject matter. For us, teaching is not just about content, but about the journey from point A to point Z. Thanks to this approach, we teach students to think critically and take responsibility for their own education.
Technology
We use technology as a natural part of teaching. We work with digital tools that support student development and prepare them for study and research at universities.
Development Beyond the School Environment
For us, learning does not end in the classroom. We involve activities that expand students experiences and connect teaching with the real world – for example, the DofE program or cooperation with the Scandinavian House. These activities strengthen independence, responsibility, and the practical application of acquired knowledge.
Student Wellbeing
Support for sports
If you are a member of a sports club, it does not mean you have to give up on a high-quality education. We fully enable it for you and will set up a study plan that suits both parties.
Individual Approach
We attend to students individually, continuously mapping which methods and forms of work best suit both individuals and the class, and adjusting procedures to support their development accordingly.
At the same time, we have a pedagogical support plan that helps students overcome obstacles in their learning.
Environment
Well-designed spaces and classroom layouts support concentration and the overall quality of learning. At the same time, we strive for an aesthetically pleasing, functional, and motivating environment where students can rest both actively and passively.
