Application Submission

Submitting an Application for the 2027/2028 School Year

Applications can be submitted in one of two ways:

a) via the digital application system DIPSY,
b) in paper form using the official printed form.

The application period runs from 1 to 20 February 2027. Since 20 February 2027 falls on a Saturday, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT) has set the final deadline for Monday 22 of February 2027. We strongly advise applicants to submit their applications well in advance.

Announcement of Admissions Criteria

The complete admissions criteria will be announced by the Headmistress between 15 and 31 January 2027.

Uniform Entrance Examination Dates

The Uniform Entrance Examination will take place on dates set by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports:

first regular date: 12 of April 2027
second regular date: 13 of April 2027
alternate dates: 29 and 30 of April 2027

School Entrance Examination

The date and content of the school's internal entrance exam will be announced in due course.

Announcement of Results

The results of the first round of admissions will be published on the school website and on the school's official notice board following the central evaluation.

Tuition

Fees depend on the student's academic performance.

In the 1st and 2nd semesters of 8th grade and the 1st semester of 9th grade.

with the amount set at:

119,000 CZK for an average up to 1.1,
129,000 CZK for an average up to 1.5, and
135,000 CZK for an average higher than 1.5.

Structure of Entrance Exam

I. UNIFORM ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (JPZ)

The Uniform Entrance Examination consists of a standardized test in Mathematics and a standardized test in Czech Language and Literature.

II. SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (ŠPZ)

The school entrance exam consists of two parts. The first part is a general knowledge test in English, evaluating core language skills at the CEFR A2 level as well as general awareness. The second part is an English interview based on a structured CV written in English, which applicants must bring with them and refer to during the interview.

Interview structure:

Brief welcome and personal introduction
Discussion based on the CV (academics, courses, extracurriculars)
Motivation to study at Gymnázium MICHAEL
Future focus and personal goals
Follow-up questions on everyday topics (school, family, hobbies, etc.)

*) Exemption from the School Entrance Examination

Applicants may request an exemption from both the written and oral parts of the school entrance examination by submitting a valid language certificate at CEFR level B1 or higher. In such cases, full points are automatically awarded.

Conditions for Enrollment, Additional Information

Having fully and successfully completed primary education (having completed the 9th grade of elementary school).
The study is a full-time, four-year program, concluded with the graduation exam (maturita).
The school year is divided into two semesters; students are evaluated separately for each semester.
The student becomes a student of the secondary school typically on September 1st, or on the date specified in the decision on admission or transfer.
