2nd round of the admissions process for the 2026/2027 school year.

Application Submission
Applications are submitted:
From May 19 to May 25, 2026
Electronically via the DiPSy system (method recommended by the school)
Via a paper form (delivery method: registered mail, data box, or in person)

For the second round of the admission procedure, an applicant may submit an application for a maximum of 3 fields of secondary education without a talent examination and 2 fields with a talent examination. In the application, the applicant shall list the fields in order of their personal preference. The order of fields cannot be changed after the application deadline has passed.
Attach the following to the application:
A statement of results of the JPZ (Uniform Admission Examination) didactic tests from the 1st round
An English language certificate and a request for waiver of the school admission examination (if the applicant is requesting a waiver of the school admission examination)
School reports (certificates) for the 1st and 2nd semesters of the 8th grade and for the 1st semester of the 9th grade of elementary school or the corresponding years of a multi-year gymnasium
A recommendation from a school counseling facility, if the applicant is requesting an adjustment of conditions
A long-term residence permit issued in connection with the armed conflict in Ukraine

No substitute date is held.
The Uniform Admission Examination (JPZ in Czech Language and Literature and Mathematics – CERMAT tests) is not held.
Results from the 1st round of the JPZ are counted.
The applicant shall submit the Statement of Results of the JPZ didactic tests simultaneously with the application.
The admission examination is free of charge. A medical certificate of health fitness is not required.

Unified Entrance Examination dates (Czech Language and Mathematics):
1st date: April 10, 2026 (Friday)
2nd date: April 13, 2026 (Monday)
Substitute dates for the unified entrance examination: April 29 and April 30, 2026.
School Entrance Examination dates:
1st date: April 10, 2026 (Friday)
2nd date: April 14, 2026 (Tuesday)
3rd date: April 21, 2026 (Tuesday) (the specific date is determined by the school)
Substitute date for the school part of the entrance examination: May 4 or May 5, 2026 (the specific date is determined by the school)
The entrance examination is free of charge.
A medical certificate of health fitness is not required.

Tuition
Fees depend on the student's academic performance.
In the 1st and 2nd semesters of 8th grade and the 1st semester of 9th grade.
with the amount set at:
119,000 CZK for an average up to 1.1,
129,000 CZK for an average up to 1.5, and
135,000 CZK for an average higher than 1.5.
Possibility to transfer to the 1st year
During the 2nd half of the 2025/2026 school year, Michael High School is opening a limited opportunity for transfer to the 1st year – 1 vacancy is available. More information here
Entrance Examinations, Admission Criteria
I. UNIFIED ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (CERMAT)
As part of the evaluation of the results of the admission procedure to a field of secondary education with a school-leaving examination, the school principal shall take into account the results of the uniform examination from the 1st round of the admission procedure. The uniform examination is not held in the 2nd round. An applicant who did not take the uniform examination as part of the first round of the admission procedure may submit an application to the second round of the admission procedure for a field of secondary education for which the uniform examination is held, but they will receive 0 points for this part. Simultaneously with the application, the applicant shall submit the Statement of Results of the didactic tests of the uniform admission examination for fields of education with a school-leaving examination from the 1st round.
II. SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAMINATION IN ENGLISH
The school round of the entrance examination aims to verify the applicant's basic language competencies at the A2 level, as well as their general knowledge. The school round consists of two parts: a written part – general knowledge in English, and an oral part, also in English. For the school round of the entrance examination, it is necessary to bring a structured curriculum vitae (CV) in English.
Written part – General knowledge in English – Language competencies and general knowledge. The written part lasts 60 minutes.
Oral part in English – Interview process (approx. 15 minutes): A short opening and self-introduction A conversation based on the CV (studies, courses, interests) Motivation to study at Grammar School MICHAEL Planned future specialization and goals Additional simple questions from everyday life situations (school, family, leisure time, etc.)

Conditions for Enrollment, Additional Information
Having fully and successfully completed primary education (having completed the 9th grade of elementary school).
The study is a full-time, four-year program, concluded with the graduation exam (maturita).
The school year is divided into two semesters; students are evaluated separately for each semester.
The student becomes a student of the secondary school typically on September 1st, or on the date specified in the decision on admission or transfer.
